Brittany, RVT

Registered Veterinary Technician

Brittany graduated from Seneca College in 2013 and started working as an RVT at Heartland in 2015. She loves looking after and caring for animals of all sizes. Brittany and her husband Josh have two children and live on a hobby farm, boarding horses. They have a beagle mix dog named Tucker, Roxie the horse, Pumpkin and Posie the cats, and various chickens. In her spare time, Brittany loves photography and anything artsy and creative.

Chantelle
Chantelle, RVT
Chantelle’s passion for agriculture and animals of all sizes began on her family’s farm outside of Owen Sound. She graduated from the University of Guelph, Ridgetown campus in 2017 with her diploma in Veterinary Technology. She has enjoyed expanding her knowledge as an RVT here at Heartland, especially in the Embryo Transfer world. She now lives in rural Flamborough area, with her husband, Nick, and their dog, Rocco. She enjoys time spent with family & friends, the outdoors, and being involved in her church community.
Crystal, RVT

Registered Veterinary Technician

Crystal graduated from Northern College-Haileybury Campus in May 2004. After graduating, Crystal worked in a small animal practice in Elora until she joined the Heartland team in October 2016. Crystal grew up on a dairy farm outside of Kenilworth and always knew she would work in veterinary medicine. With her years of experience in the dairy industry, she was very excited when the opportunity came up to become a member of our large animal team. She now divides her time between farm visits and small animals at all 3 of our locations. Crystal lives in Listowel with her husband Dave, their 2 girls Avery and Cassidy, and their son Wyatt. When Crystal isn’t at work, she keeps busy hiking, fishing, and exploring with her children.

Denise, RVT

Registered Veterinary Technician

Denise graduated from the veterinary technician program of St. Clair college in 1999. Since that time, Denise has worked in emergency and critical care and most recently spent 12 yrs at a companion animal hospital. She enjoys being part of a health care team working together to diagnose and treat a patient’s illness and get them feeling their best again. She has a special interest in surgery, physical therapy, and rehabilitation. Born in Brantford, Denise has always had a love of animals and spent her youth roaming the fields and forest surrounding the Grand River. She enjoys hiking, camping, fishing, and CrossFit training. She recently moved to Mount Forest with her son Ryan and daughter Lauren. Her fur companions are 3 cats, Stang, the 1 eared mischief-making cat, Puddin, a retired clinic cat, and Maylia, a 20 yr old foster cat who enjoys her golden years in retirement after being abandoned in an empty house by her previous owner. She joined our team in 2020 and primarily serves at our Mount Forest location.

Haleigh

Large Animal Technician

In 2020, Haleigh graduated from the University of Guelph with a major in Animal Science. Following that, she worked for a semen collection centre in Listowel until she joined the Heartland team in 2021. At Heartland, Haleigh is one of the Large Animal Technicians typically seen on-farm working with calves or assisting the Large Animal Veterinarians. Haleigh has a strong interest in cattle reproduction and is excited to expand her knowledge in embryo transfer here at Heartland. Haleigh grew up on a beef farm outside of Owen Sound, where her love for animals first began! Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her friends, family, and pets on the farm or camping. She also enjoys woodworking and photography in her leisure time.

Holly, RVT

Embryologist

Holly was hired on with the Heartland ET team in June 2021 after spending the past 16 years in a small animal practice and being a practice manager in a human medical facility. She graduated from Seneca College in 2006 and remained a member in good standing with the Ontario Association of Veterinary Technicians. Holly moved from Hamilton to Waterloo and then to Milverton last year, and her family has completely fallen in love with the small-town feeling. She shares her home with her husband Paul, son Emmett, and the newest furry addition to her clan, Walter the Lab/Newfoundland cross. She loves to go to the cottage in her spare time, play softball, read, and travel.

Kaylee, RVT

Registered Veterinary Technician

Kaylee graduated from the Veterinary Office Administration program at the University of Guelph Ridgetown Campus in 2016 and, shortly after, went on to graduate from the Veterinary Technician program at Northern College at the Haileybury Campus in May of 2019. After finishing her co-op at Heartland in her final year of school, she started her new career with the Heartland team! You may have seen Kaylee from time to time at the Palmerston Public Pool teaching swimming lessons as a lifeguard. Kaylee lives outside of Palmerston with her family on a farm and with her family dog Elsie, a German Shepherd cross, and her large-and-in-charge Newfoundland dog, Finn. She also has many kitty friends that she cares very deeply for. Kaylee has a strong interest in mental health in the veterinary field and wants to pursue her knowledge further to help promote awareness. When she’s not busy working on the farm, she is usually hanging out with friends, swimming, or traveling.

Lindsey, RVT

Registered Veterinary Technician

Lindsey graduated from St. Clair College in May 2008 and started working in Listowel immediately after graduating. Lindsey’s positive attitude helps keep everyone smiling throughout the workday. Lindsey is a proud mother of 2 children and has two hound dogs, Sierra and Millie, and a cat, Lou. In 2016 Lindsey achieved her diploma in practical nursing. In her spare time, Lindsey enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

Patricia, RVT

Registered Veterinary Technician

Patricia has always had a passion for animals. When she was younger, you could always find her feeding and cuddling the neighbourhood stray cats and kittens or catching toads and salamanders in the summer. This led to pursuing a career in veterinary medicine. She graduated from the veterinary technician program at Georgian College, then worked in a small animal clinic in Toronto for three years. Patricia enjoys spending time with her husband and family as well as reading and cuddling with her two cats in her spare time.

Samantha G., RVT

Registered Veterinary Technician

Samantha graduated from Seneca College in the spring of 2006 and joined our Drayton location immediately after graduating, and now works primarily at our Mount Forest location. She grew up in Harriston and has maintained an active involvement in her community through contributing to many community organizations and events. Sam is often on the go but makes time for her husband Jeremy, their two children and dog named Annie, and 2 cats Mickey and Mittens.

Sam K., RVT
Registered Veterinary Technician

Sam graduated from Georgian college and joined the Heartland team in 2009. She is an RVT with a special interest in feline medicine and dentistry. She divides her time between our small animal practice and embryo transfer team at Heartland. Sam and her husband keep busy raising their
twin boys! She loves to bake, and enjoys spending time camping and canoeing with her family.

Sarah O.

Large Animal Technician

Sarah joined the Heartland Team as a part-time student in 2013 after completing a high school co-op with us. In 2017, she graduated from the University of Guelph, Ridgetown Campus with a diploma in Agriculture and returned to Heartland full-time. Sarah spends her time at Heartland working as one of the large animal techs, assisting our bovine and equine veterinarians on-farm, or doing dairy herd data entry. Sarah lives on a farm outside of Listowel with her two boxers, Bentley and Nova, and horses and her growing herd of beef cattle. In her spare time, Sarah enjoys spending time with family and friends and tending to her livestock.

Sarah V., RVT

Registered Veterinary Technician

Sarah graduated from the Veterinary Technician program at St. Clair college and began her career as a small animal RVT in 2009. She joined Heartland in June of 2022.

Sarah’s love and desire to care for animals began at an early age, and she’s pleased to offer her technical skills to help improve the health and well-being of our furry companions.

When not at work, Sarah loves art and usually has multiple projects on the go, and enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and three cats.

Tatiana, RVT
Registered Veterinary Technician

Tatiana went to school at Sheridan College for Veterinary Technician, and graduated in 2020. She became an RVT shortly after and worked at Markdale until coming to Heartland. Tatiana have experience with small animals as well as large. She has her own hobby farm at her parents home in Mount Forest where she grew up, which includes chickens, goats, and a pony. Tatiana currently lives in Wroxeter with her boyfriend and his daughter and their 3 dogs, Shadow, Pipsqueak and Valentine. In her spare time she likes reading, gardening and horseback riding.

Vanessa, RVT

Registered Veterinary Technician

Vanessa grew up in Listowel and started as a high school coop student at Heartland. She graduated from the Veterinary Technician program at Georgian College in the spring of 2014. She started working at Heartland right after graduation. She is an RVT with a special interest in Nutrition and dentistry. She has always loved animals, and working with them has always been a passion of hers. She has two dogs of her own that keep her on her toes, named Georgia and Moose. Vanessa likes to stay active by playing sports, going on walks with her dogs, and spending time with family and friends outside of work.

Registered Veterinary Technician

I graduated from the University of Guelph Ridgetown Campus in 2020. My love for animals started from a very young age! I started to ride horses when I was 7, and had a couple cats a dogs growing up as well! I worked on a dairy farm for a few years where my love for the dairy industry started! I have a lot for animals of shapes and sizes! I’m excited to continue working with Heartland and be a member of an awesome team!
Emma O
Emma

Veterinary Technician

Emma is currently enrolled at the University of Guelph Ridgetown Campus for Veterinary Technology in the Alternative Program. She started school in September of 2020 and will plan to graduate in 2023 as a Veterinary Technician. She began her journey here at Heartland in August of 2016, where she started out as a student after school, working her way into the Animal Care Assistants role in 2020. Her interest within animal medicine all started in her younger years while growing up on a small hobby farm just outside of Listowel. She shares a family dog named Jackson, a golden retriever that loves to run and play on the farm. If you don’t see Emma at the clinic, you can find her playing baseball or hockey or up at her family cottage, where she enjoys being out on the water, four-wheeling, and snowmobiling. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
