Our Story

About Our Clinic

Heartland Animal Hospital and Veterinary Services, originally known as Listowel Vet Clinic, opened the doors to our community in 1960. It became known in the area for its strong food animal practice and was also very proud to serve the local community’s companion animal clients. The practice continued to grow over the years. This expansion started with the purchase of Fairles Veterinary Services in Mount Forest. The next step in expansion was the purchase of Drayton Veterinary Clinic’s small animal and equine practice.

To better represent the area and to unify our clinics, it was decided to change the name to Heartland Animal Hospital and Veterinary Services. The practice continued to expand with the purchase of Drayton Veterinary Clinic’s large animal practice, followed shortly after with the purchase of Paisley Veterinary Service’s large animal practice. With this continued growth through the years, more veterinarians and support staff joined our team, allowing us to continue to expand the services we offer and allowing our veterinarians and staff to focus their attention on the very species-specific needs of our clients.

From our three small animal clinics in Listowel, Drayton and Mount Forest, we are proud to serve our companion animal clients in those communities and the surrounding areas.

We are also proud to serve a large area of Southwestern and Central Ontario for our food animal and equine clients from those three locations and a large animal pharmacy at The Paisley Veterinary Services office,

Our team is committed to the provision of excellent progressive veterinary medicine and outstanding customer service. We pride ourselves on providing every client and their animals with all options for veterinary care. Our dedicated staff are knowledgeable and compassionate and together, we all support the same objective: to provide quality care to all animals and exceed all your expectations.
