Our Client Care Representatives and Animal Care Attendants
Ashley has been a part of the Heartland family since May 2016. Ashley was born and raised in Mount Forest and currently still resides there with her daughter, her two cats Gordon and Gideon, and her loving golden named Gunner. She graduated from Laboratory Technician Program in London, ON. She’s always had a passion and love for animals. During her spare time, Ashley enjoys spending time with family, going to the beach, dining out, and taking road trips.
Cassandra graduated from Lambton College for Pre-Service Fire Fighting in 2018 and Fanshawe College for Emergency Telecommunications in 2019. Cassandra joined us here at Heartland in 2021 and is putting her telecommunications knowledge to work on our Client Care Representative Team. She keeps busy as a volunteer Fire Fighter for the Howick Fire Department and spends her time out of the office in her office at home, creating custom projects for friends and family.
Emma is currently enrolled at the University of Guelph Ridgetown Campus for Veterinary Technology in the Alternative Program. She started school in September of 2020 and will plan to graduate in 2023 as a Veterinary Technician. She began her journey here at Heartland in August of 2016, where she started out as a student after school, working her way into the Animal Care Assistants role in 2020. Her interest within animal medicine all started in her younger years while growing up on a small hobby farm just outside of Listowel. She shares a family dog named Jackson, a golden retriever that loves to run and play on the farm. If you don’t see Emma at the clinic, you can find her playing baseball or hockey or up at her family cottage, where she enjoys being out on the water, four-wheeling, and snowmobiling. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
Jenna graduated from the Social Services program at Conestoga College in 2007. She worked many years in the Social Services field before joining the Heartland client care team in 2019. Jenna has always been passionate about helping people and animals. Jenna resides in Listowel with her husband Nick, her two sons Grayson and Xander, and cat, Miley. When Jenna has free time, she enjoys spending it with her friends and family.
Karen has been a long-time valued member of the Heartland family. Karen started working in our first building in 1978, taking on many roles of the clinic, and you can now find her friendly self as our Large Animal Receptionist. Karen lives on her “funny farm” outside of Listowel and enjoys spending time with her grandchildren and traveling in her spare time.
Kaylin joined the Heartland team in February 2021. She grew up in the Listowel area and has always been an animal lover. She is a proud mom to her fur babies Liv, Bailey, and Summer. She enjoys gardening, hiking, and spending time with her friends and family in her free time.
Nicole was born in Alberta but relocated to Cambridge, where she grew up. Her husband Ryan and their 3 kids – Harmony, Shyla, and Alden, moved to North Perth in 2016 and have since been enjoying the country living. Nicole has grown up with pets all her life, but her current fur family involves her 2 cats – Peanut and Jinxy, and her 2 dogs – Rocket and Cleo-Paw-Tra (aka Cleo). When Nicole isn’t at work, she enjoys playing darts, campfires, and dancing like nobody’s watching.
Rachel graduated with a diploma in Agriculture from the University of Guelph, Ridgetown Campus, in 2018. She joined the Heartland team later that year after working on a dairy farm for 3 years. Rachel has an Australian Shepherd named Bandit, who loves to play fetch, and two cats named Winston and Felix! She enjoys reading, baking, and spending time with her friends and family in her spare time.
Sam is currently a student at the Ontario Veterinary College and is set to graduate with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in the spring of 2023. She grew up in Listowel and was first a co-op student with our team in 2016, before going off to University. Sam has an interest in pursuing a career as a small animal veterinarian post-graduation and would like to incorporate some avian and exotic medicine into her practice. Sam enjoys hiking with her dog Lola and playing fetch with her cat Jeff in her spare time.
Sam graduated from the General Business program at Fanshawe College in May 2015. She started working at Heartland as a Client Care Representative in July 2017 and has enjoyed this position ever since. She currently resides in Moorefield, Ontario, on a dairy farm with her husband and two kids. She also has three dogs named Sully, Mini, and Mabel that enjoy being on the farm. Samantha keeps busy by working on the farm, playing baseball, and spending time with family and friends.
Sierra has had a love for animals her whole life. Before working for Heartland, she worked at a horse training facility for a number of years. Sierra joined the Heartland team in September of 2018 as a Client Care Representative and Animal Care Assistant. She is passionate about providing excellent customer service and making sure patients receive the best care. Sierra currently resides in Palmerston with her husband. When she is not at work, she enjoys going back to the home farm to ride her horses. She also loves the outdoors, camping, and her family and friends. Sierra is happy to be a part of the Heartland team and is excited to meet you and your four-legged friends!
Taylor previously studied public relations and then joined our team at Heartland in 2020. Taylor was raised and currently resides in Listowel with her new Labrador puppy, Gus! When she is not a work, you may be able to find her pursuing her passion in photography!
Tara currently lives on a dairy farm just outside of Wallenstein. She has always loved animals and working with them. Tara has two horses and a dog. Tara enjoys riding her horses, snowboarding, playing sports, and being with friends in her spare time.
Tyra graduated from Carleton University with a Bachelor of Humanities in 2016. Born on an agriculture farm in Norfolk County, Tyra recently moved to the area after living in Ottawa for the past 10-years. Tyra previously worked for the RCMP but found herself volunteering all her spare time with animal rescues. Tyra has always had a passion for pets and decided to make a career change to work in animal care. Tyra and her husband Mat are proud fur-parents to their dogs and spend their spare time spoiling their fur family.
