Dairy Comp/CCR

Alex graduated from the University of Guelph, Ridgetown Campus in 2010. She enjoys working with animals of all kinds, big and small. She currently lives in Listowel with her husband and 2 kids. They have 2 dogs, Bo, who is a blue heeler/blue tick cross, and Daisy, a bloodhound. Alex enjoys being outdoors as much as possible, camping and snowmobiling in the winter.


Ashley has been a part of the Heartland family since May 2016. Ashley was born and raised in Mount Forest and currently still resides there with her daughter, her two cats Gordon and Gideon, and her loving golden named Gunner. She graduated from Laboratory Technician Program in London, ON. She’s always had a passion and love for animals. During her spare time, Ashley enjoys spending time with family, going to the beach, dining out, and taking road trips.



Cassandra graduated from Lambton College for Pre-Service Fire Fighting in 2018 and Fanshawe College for Emergency Telecommunications in 2019. Cassandra joined us here at Heartland in 2021 and is putting her telecommunications knowledge to work on our Client Care Representative Team. She keeps busy as a volunteer Fire Fighter for the Howick Fire Department and spends her time out of the office in her office at home, creating custom projects for friends and family.


Dani was born and raised in Waterloo and moved to Listowel in 2017. She currently lives in the country with her standard poodle Bodhi and her three cats; Lou, Myles, and Faye. Dani also has pet chickens; Mable, Mavis, Beatrice, Suzy, Rory, Dot, Stella, Ella, Bella, Billy, and Luci. Before joining the Heartland team in 2021, Dani has pursued her passion for animals through her career in the veterinary and animal care industry. Dani will continue to dedicate her life to loving and caring for animals. In her free time, Dani loves playing guitar and spending time with family, both 2 legged and 4 legged. Dani looks forward to meeting you and your furry friends!



Emma is currently enrolled at the University of Guelph Ridgetown Campus for Veterinary Technology in the Alternative Program. She started school in September of 2020 and will plan to graduate in 2023 as a Veterinary Technician. She began her journey here at Heartland in August of 2016, where she started out as a student after school, working her way into the Animal Care Assistants role in 2020. Her interest within animal medicine all started in her younger years while growing up on a small hobby farm just outside of Listowel. She shares a family dog named Jackson, a golden retriever that loves to run and play on the farm. If you don’t see Emma at the clinic, you can find her playing baseball or hockey or up at her family cottage, where she enjoys being out on the water, four-wheeling, and snowmobiling. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends.



Karen has been a long-time valued member of the Heartland family. Karen started working in our first building in 1978, taking on many roles of the clinic, and you can now find her friendly self as our Large Animal Receptionist. Karen lives on her “funny farm” outside of Listowel and enjoys spending time with her grandchildren and traveling in her spare time.



Hannah graduated with a diploma in Agriculture from the University of Guelph, Ridgetown Campus, in 2015. In college, she met her husband Zach and moved from Hamilton to Listowel shortly after to be closer to him. She worked on various farms working specifically with dairy calves. She took some time off to focus on raising her son Timothy and to work on Zach’s and her dairy farm located in Wroxeter. Hannah loves spending time on her farm with her dogs, Finn and Pepper, with her horses Lichen and Caspian, and of course with all of the cows! With her little guy headed to school, Hannah decided to join the heartland team as a CCR.



Kaylin joined the Heartland team in February 2021. She grew up in the Listowel area and has always been an animal lover. She is a proud mom to her fur babies Liv, Bailey, and Summer. She enjoys gardening, hiking, and spending time with her friends and family in her free time.



My name is Niah, and I currently reside in the town of Goderich, Ontario. My passion and enthusiasm for optimal care, health, and treatment of animals have been with me for as long as I remember. Currently, I am working towards my undergrad degree at the University of Guelph with an emphasis on animal studies. My family and I share three beloved pets: a Bernese mountain dog (Auggie) and two Bengal cats (Ali and Sanji). I enjoy being involved in equestrian activities, learning new things, and spending time with friends and family.

Accounts Receivable/CCR/ACA

Nicole, her husband Ryan and their 3 kids – Harmony, Shyla, and Alden, moved from the KW area to North Perth in 2016. Nicole brings a diverse background in the customer service industry and accounts receivable to the Heartland family. Her fur family includes a cat named Peanut, a Miniature Australian Shepherd named Rocket and an Aussiedoodle named Cleo-Paw-Tra (aka Cleo). When Nicole isn’t at work, she enjoys dancing, playing darts and having back yard campfires.



Rachel graduated with a diploma in Agriculture from the University of Guelph, Ridgetown Campus, in 2018. She joined the Heartland team later that year after working on a dairy farm for 3 years. Rachel has an Australian Shepherd named Bandit, who loves to play fetch, and two cats named Winston and Felix! She enjoys reading, baking, and spending time with her friends and family in her spare time.

Sam D


Sam is currently a student at the Ontario Veterinary College and is set to graduate with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in the spring of 2023. She grew up in Listowel and was first a co-op student with our team in 2016, before going off to University. Sam has an interest in pursuing a career as a small animal veterinarian post-graduation and would like to incorporate some avian and exotic medicine into her practice. Sam enjoys hiking with her dog Lola and playing fetch with her cat Jeff in her spare time.



Sierra has had a love for animals her whole life. Before working for Heartland, she worked at a horse training facility for a number of years. Sierra joined the Heartland team in September of 2018 as a Client Care Representative and Animal Care Assistant. She is passionate about providing excellent customer service and making sure patients receive the best care. Sierra currently resides in Palmerston with her husband. When she is not at work, she enjoys going back to the home farm to ride her horses. She also loves the outdoors, camping, and her family and friends. Sierra is happy to be a part of the Heartland team and is excited to meet you and your four-legged friends!

Taylor previously studied public relations and then joined our team at Heartland in 2020. Taylor was raised and currently resides in Listowel with her new Labrador puppy, Gus! When she is not a work, you may be able to find her pursuing her passion in photography!


Megan is a mom of 3 and a dog mom of Thor and Loki. On top of being a part of the Heartland team, Megan is a member of Howick Township Council and active volunteer. Between the kids, dogs, committees, and her husband’s business, she is constantly on the go! When she has time to herself, Megan enjoys playing broomball or baseball, four wheeling and watching the Leafs and Blue Jays.


Lori is a proud mother of three young adult children, Lorynne, Avery, and Nick. She currently resides in the town of Mount Forest with her husband and Springer Spaniel, Kona. Lori enjoys spending time around the campfire with family, downhill skiing, watching the Blue Jays play baseball, and knitting.
